This is a little ditty performed by another of my favourites, Brian Jonestown Massacre. The band is fronted by the intriguingly eccentric Anton Newcombe. If you should find yourself inquisitive as to how the band came about, go rent a doco by the name of Dig. The film is a fly on the wall account of the formation of BJM and their close connection with The Dandy Warhols. Especially the tumultuous and competitive relationship between Anton and Courteny Taylor-Taylor.
Irrespective of how the documentary depicts BJM’s success in comparison to The Warhols, BJM are still going strong with the release of their 2010 album Who Killed Sgt. Pepper?.
This song written way back in 1998, however, is proof that Newcombe is adept at the love song schtick…
